Joey Galloway gives reasoning for putting Michigan at No. 4 on his CFB Playoff rankings

When breaking down the No. 4 spot on his College Football Playoff rankings, ESPN analyst Joey Galloway spoke very favorably of the Wolverines.
Obviously there is still a ways to go in the college football season, but the initial rankings for the Playoff will shed a bit of light on the race for the National Championship. At 7-1, Michigan has recovered from the early loss to Notre Dame and could find itself on the edge of a Playoff bid on Tuesday’s initial rankings.
For Galloway, he personally has the Wolverines at No. 4 ahead of LSU. The Tigers have wins over Miami, Georgia, and Auburn but also a loss to Florida.
However, Galloway said he is not constrained by any sort of rules on his rankings. He believes it is currently clear that Michigan would beat LSU on a neutral field, and that is why the Wolverines got the fourth spot on his list.
He made his comments on ESPN’s SportsCenter Tuesday evening:
“I am not constrained by rules of FPI and strength of schedule,” explained Galloway. “I can look at these two teams and say I truly believe on a neutral field, Michigan would beat LSU due to weaknesses in LSU’s passing game.”
LSU was No. 4 and Michigan was No. 5 on the latest AP Top 25. Who do you think will make the Playoff in the fourth and final spot?
