Joey Galloway says the Buckeyes view 2022 as their title to lose: ‘Can Alabama slow them down?’

Joey Galloway appeared on ESPN’s Tuesday morning edition to discuss some of the pressing topics in college football.
During his appearance, Galloway discussed the marquee matchup between Notre Dame and Ohio State in Week 1. While the Buckeyes are heavily favored, Galloway admitted the Irish have a chance to keep things closer than expected in Columbus.
Later on, Galloway was asked the question on a lot of people’s minds entering the season: Is Ohio State Alabama’s biggest threat to the national title this season?
Galloway answered that question by pointing out that the people around the Ohio State program look at the question from the opposite perspective. According to Galloway, the Buckeyes are entering the 2022 season as if it is their national title to lose:
“In Columbus, they’re saying ‘Is Alabama the biggest threat to Ohio State winning it this season?’ There’s 2 really good football teams in the country right now going into the season, that’s Alabama and Ohio State,” explained Galloway. “And I wouldn’t say people (around Ohio State) look at it as ‘We’re the biggest threat to Alabama,’ they actually look at it the other way around as if it is Ohio State’s title to win or lose, and can Alabama slow them down.”
During B1G Media Days, head coach Ryan Day made it clear the expectations remain unchanged around the program. Those three goals for the Buckeyes are beat Michigan, win the B1G and win the national title.
Last season, the Buckeyes failed to achieve any of their goals. Can they make a run in 2022?
