ESPN college football analyst Joey Galloway didn’t pull any punches when describing the current state of the Ohio State-Michigan rivalry on Tuesday night.

Galloway went off on Harbaugh’s antics and recent lack of success — both on the field and on the recruiting trail.

“When he does stuff like calls ’em Ohio and says ‘Michigan State is our rival,'” Galloway said on ESPN Tuesday evening. “It would matter if they were any good. Had they had some success in recent history, those things would be important. At this point, it doesn’t make any sense. Ohio State doesn’t care about that stuff at this point. Ohio State is looking ahead of things like what Jim Harbaugh is saying at Michigan. [Ohio State] is thinking, ‘How do we climb the Clemson hurdle? How do we get over the Alabama hurdle?’

It’s worth noting that Galloway is an Ohio State alum, but it’s hard to argue with his thinking here. Ohio State has won four consecutive Big Ten championships and eight straight games over Michigan. The Wolverines have defeated Ohio State just three times this century.

Galloway’s No. 1 suggestion for improvement in Ann Arbor? Get better on the recruiting trail.

“The stuff that Michigan has to do is, number one, close the gap in recruiting,” Galloway said. “Ohio State has been outstanding in recruiting … It’s not even close in recent years and it’s getting worse.”

Here’s Galloway’s full remarks:

Ohio State and Michigan will play this season on Nov. 27 in Ann Arbor.
