Jonathan Taylor is impressing this rookie season, joining some elite company on Sunday.

The former Wisconsin running back now has 1,100 yards from scrimmage and 10 touchdowns, making him the first Indianapolis Colts running back since 1999 to do so.

The running back who did that over two decades ago? Edgerrin James. Oh, and James ended up making the Pro Football Hall of Fame this past year. James was a four-time Pro Bowl selection and twice an All-Pro.

That’s some pretty good company for Taylor. Especially considering those Colts in 1999 were led by a huge passing attack with Peyton Manning under center. Though current Colts quarterback Phillip Rivers is dynamic in his own right, he is far from the caliber that Manning played at in 1999.

Taylor finished his three seasons with the Badgers with 6,174 rushing yards and 50 rushing touchdowns.

Taylor was a second-round pick of the Colts in this past spring’s NFL Draft, going No. 41 overall.
