Jonathan Taylor and the Indianapolis Colts decided on what the next steps are for the NFL’s rushing leader from two seasons ago. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news on Monday.
Taylor was reportedly given permission to leave the Colts by way of a trade on Monday. Taylor requested a trade from the team back in July. The reasoning for the trade had to do with Indianapolis not offering Taylor a contract extension.

Taylor accounted for 861 yards rushing and 4 touchdowns last season before a high ankle sprain cut his year short. Taylor played in 11 games for the Colts before being placed on the IR due to the injury.
NFL reporter Albert Breer indicated that the Colts are wanting to receive a large return for Taylor. Breer believes they will trade Taylor at the right price.
One thing that was emphasized to me—the Colts aren’t going to give RB Jonathan Taylor away. They’d do a trade at the right price. So again, it’ll probably mean Taylor finding a contract elsewhere AND a suitor willing to give Indy a good return on top of that.

Indianapolis finished the 2022 season at 4-12-1. The team already had a losing record when Taylor suffered the injury, and it didn’t make matters any better.
Tradition will keep you updated on where Taylor heads next. For now, it looks like he will not be playing in Indianapolis this season.
