Former Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor has been a difference-maker for the Indianapolis Colts offense since 2020. Will he be back to turn the season around in Week 6?
Taylor returned to practice Thursday prior to Sunday’s AFC South matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Colts head coach Frank Reich did not specify if Taylor would be cleared to play entering the weekend.

Taylor did not play in Indy’s 12-9 win over the Denver Broncos last Thursday night due to an ankle injury. This season, things have slowed down for the All-Pro runner in large part due to an inconsistent offensive line. In 4 games, Taylor has totaled 328 rushing yards off 81 attempts and only scored 1 touchdown.
Last season, Taylor broke onto the scene as one of the league’s top runners. He tallied 1,811 yards and 18 touchdowns while averaging 5.5 yards per carry. As a rookie, Taylor averaged 5 yards per run and totaled 1,169 yards and 11 touchdowns in 15 games.
Another star runner from Madison, Taylor posted back-to-back 2,000-yard campaigns with the Badgers during his 3 seasons. For his career, Taylor ranks 2nd all-time in Badgers’ history for rushing yards (6,174), trailing only Heisman winner Ron Dayne (7,125).
