Jordan Geronimo showed up and showed out on Saturday. In one of his best performances of the year, Geronimo earned a double-double and helped Indiana upset No. 16 Wisconsin in front of a home crowd in Bloomington.
The 6-foot-6 forward scored 12 points and 11 rebounds in his 29 minutes on the court Saturday to earn his double-double. Three of Geronimo’s rebounds were offensive boards.
After the game, head coach Mike Woodson praised Geronimo’s play, saying “I thought he played so within himself tonight it wasn’t even funny.” Geronimo himself echoed those sentiments, commenting “I was able to play like myself.”

During Indiana’s 3-game losing streak, Geronimo scored a total of 15 points. He proved to be a key piece on Saturday in helping the Hoosiers get back on track.
Last season, Geronimo played in all 34 games off the bench and averaged 4.4 points and 3.6 rebounds. The forward amassed 24 blocked shots, a tie for second on the team.
If Saturday’s game where Geronimo was able to play like “himself” was any indication of what’s to come, Indiana may be able to get back on track this season after all.
