Jordan Murphy records another double-double as Minnesota blasts Indiana

When Jordan Murphy left the court at Williams Arena on Saturday, he was celebrated by a standing ovation.

Murphy finished the game with another double-double this season, scoring 23 points and grabbing 11 rebounds as Minnesota registered an 84-63 victory over Indiana. It was his 10th double-double in 15 B1G contests this season.

The star forward was seven-of-11 from the floor and knocked down nine of his 13 free throw attempts. He also finished the game with three assists.

 

Three other Gophers reached double figures in the win, as Gabe Kalscheur scored 20, Amir Coffey dropped 18 and Dupree McBrayer chipped in 10. The win on Saturday marked the end of a four-game losing streak for the Gophers.

Minnesota shot the ball exceptionally well, converting on 48.3 percent of its shot attempts. The Gophers also hit 12-of-22 three-point shots.

Four Hoosiers also scored in double figures, with Juwan Morgan leading the way with 14 and Al Durham adding 12. De’Ron Davis and Romeo Langford each at 10.

With the win, Minnesota improved to 7-8 in the B1G and 17-9 overall on the year. Indiana dropped to 4-10 and 13-12 for the season.

The Gophers’ next challenge comes on Thursday, when they host No. 6 Michigan.
