Jordy Bahl turned the college softball world on its head earlier this week, announcing a decision to enter the transfer portal after back-to-back national titles at Oklahoma. On Thursday, Bahl confirmed her intentions to return home with a commitment to Nebraska.

The move is a resounding win for Husker softball. Bahl will also be honored by a minor league baseball team following her move to Nebraska.

Shortly after her transfer announcement, the Omaha Storm Chasers officially dubbed Friday, June 30 as Jordy Bahl Day. Per the Storm Chasers, Bahl will make her first appearance as a Husker at the June 30 game between Omaha and the Iowa Cubs. The Storm Chasers are the Triple-A affiliate for the Kansas City Royals.

As a freshman, Bahl went 22-1 with a 1.09 ERA and 205 strikeouts in 141.1 innings pitched. She followed that up with another 22-1 record in 2023 to go along with a 0.90 ERA and 192 strikeouts in 147.1 innings pitched. Bahl was a star contributor for Oklahoma’s dominant national championship squads in 2022 and 2023.
