Iowa linebacker Josey Jewell has earned national recognition for his outstanding performance against Purdue on Saturday.
On Monday, Jewell was named the Lott IMPACT Trophy national Defensive Player of the Week after another double-digit tackle performance against the Boilermakers on Senior Day. It was the second time this season the senior linebacker was awarded the honor.

Jewell tallied 13 tackles, two sacks and three pass break-ups against Purdue on Saturday. It was the eighth time this season that Jewell has totaled double-digit stops, including his last seven games.
The linebacker was also named the Lott IMPACT Trophy Player of the Week in Week 1 after Iowa beat Wyoming 24-3. Jewell recorded 14 tackles in that game.
On the season, Jewell has totaled 117 stops including 12.5 tackles for loss.
