JT Tuimoloau updates status of potential hoops career with Ohio State

JT Tuimoloau is not only great on the football field, but he’s also great on the basketball court. In a recent interview, Tuimoloau discussed his love of basketball but why he decided to stay with football.
“We talked when I first came out here, Coach (Chris) Holtmann is still my guy,” said Tuimoloau. “When I first came in, I was really thinking about playing both sports, but I think just how late I came in, I turned my focus to have a first full offseason this past year with Coach Mick and we just said hey, we’re gonna go with football.”

Tuimoloau wouldn’t be the first two-sport athlete, just the latest. Both Deion Sanders and Bo Jackson played two sports in college and the pros. Sanders and Jackson played football and baseball and were fairly successful at both.
But the college football and basketball seasons basically are going on at the same time so it would be almost impossible for Tuimoloau to do both at the same time and it looks like he made the right choice in picking football.
