Penn State has dipped into the junior college level to land its most recent commitment of the 2020 recruiting class.

Friday night, the Nittany Lions landed a commitment from three-star cornerback Ji’Ayir Brown, who spent last season at Lackawanna Community College. He made his announcement via Twitter, becoming the 11th player to join the class.

“I will like to thanks the Penn State coaching staff for believing in me and offering me a chance to play at the next level,” Brown wrote. “Finally, I would like to thank my family for not giving up on me through this whole process. With that being said I am more than grateful to say that I am 100% committed to Penn State University.”

According to 247Sports, Brown is ranked as the No. 20 junior college prospect in the 2020 class and his the No. 2 cornerback.

Brown is coming off a solid freshman campaign at Lackawanna, making a big impact last fall. He totaled 40 tackles and five interceptions, including one pick-six. Lackawanna finished last season with a perfect 11-0 record.

Despite some recent turnover on the recruiting trail, Penn State still owns the B1G’s second-best recruiting class, thought it’s still quite a ways behind Ohio State. The Nittany Lions rank No. 20 overall while the Buckeyes are at No. 5 nationally.
