The 2021 season received a bit of good news for Badgers fans with a Wednesday announcement that Wisconsin will be back to full capacity at Camp Randall Stadium.
As many schools throughout the B1G continue to make their own announcements, Wisconsin released a brief video sharing the news. That means the season opener against Penn State should be a packed house.
“We are thrilled to be able to welcome fans back to our venues beginning this fall,” UW Director of Athletics Barry Alvarez said. “The thought of 80,000 fans in Camp Randall Stadium on a Saturday or a packed Field House cheering on the volleyball team on a Friday night gives me chills.”
“We’ve missed the energy of our fans so much,” UW Deputy AD Chris McIntosh said. “To be able to sit here in late June and look forward to full capacity in the fall is tremendously exciting. I’m ecstatic for our fans, our student-athletes and our staff.”
It also means that the Sept. 4 game against the Nittany Lions will be the first time for “Jump Around” with fans in the stands in quite some time. It is sure to be an electric moment for all involved.
