Just a few hours after hitting the transfer portal, Purdue’s Matt Haarms heard from more than two dozen programs

Matt Haarms is a popular player right now.
On Monday, the Purdue center made the surprising decision to enter the NCAA transfer portal after spending the last three seasons with the Boilermakers. The high-energy, shot-altering, 7-foot-3 center is now a hot commodity to many college basketball coaches, and several have already shown interest.
According to ESPN, Haarms provided a list of schools who reached out to him on Monday, immediately after the announcement was made that he was on the open market. That list included more than two dozen programs.

Haarms will easily be one of the top targets in the transfer portal, as he adds an immediate post presence to nearly any program.
This past season, Haarms averaged 8.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and 0.9 assists per game. He also totaled 210 career blocks, which ranks fourth in Purdue’s history.
Purdue finished the 2019-20 season with a 16-15 record.
