Iowa center Luka Garza has been working on his jumper this offseason.
In the Hawkeyes’ season-opener vs. North Carolina Central, Garza pulled off a jumper that is eerily similar to NBA legend Dirk Nowitzki’s iconic fadeaway.

The dribbles. The right foot raising up to clear space. The over-the-head release. The swish. It’s all there, and it’s clearly an homage to Dirk’s famous fadeaway.
In case you need a refresher, since Nowitzki has been out of the league for a couple years:
Dirk’s one-legged fadeaway is truly a thing of beauty🔥

Garza is a consensus preseason All-American and will be one of the leading candidates to be National Player of the Year at season’s end.
Iowa is also a threat to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament. The Hawkeyes are ranked No. 5 in the preseason AP Poll.
Garza finished with 26 points and 10 rebounds in Iowa’s 97-67 win over North Carolina Central on Wednesday.
The Hawkeyes play again on Friday against Southern U.
