As Wisconsin sat with a 31-point lead in the fourth quarter inside the Big House, some of the Badgers’ younger players got a chance to take the field.

That included Wisconsin freshman running back Jalen Berger. He got the ball in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s game and took advantage as he scampered 23 yards for his first collegiate touchdown. That pushed the Badger lead to 42-11.

Regardless of who’s in, it seems like the Badger offensive line is so good that they open holes and Wisconsin has the backs who are smart enough to race through those holes and make things happen.

Berger is a newcomer to Madison after coming from Newark, New Jersey. He was a four-star recruit and the 15th best running back in the Class of 2020. This was a big get for the Badgers as Berger had offers from the likes of UCLA, Alabama, Baylor and Boston College.

With the pedigree of running backs coming out of Wisconsin, it’s not totally shocking that Berger would pick the Badgers. It seems like the assembly line of great Wisconsin running backs is continuing. The latest to join that group is Berger.
