Bears coach Matt Nagy says the team is being “extremely conservative” with the rookie quarterback but they’re still aiming for him to play on Saturday vs. the Bills, according to Pro Football Talk. With this injury though, it could come down to a game-time decision.
Fields earned a B from NFL.com for his debut performance vs. the Dolphins. Fields flashed his dual-threat abilities by rushing for an 8-yard touchdown and throwing a touchdown to tight end Jesse James.
Fields was selected by the Bears with the 11th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. While at Ohio State, Fields was a Second-team All–American (2019) and tw0-time first-team All-Big Ten selection (2019, 2020).
