Justin Fields is a future star as he continues to play fantastic football despite his Chicago Bears struggling to gain any traction in the NFC. On 2nd & 27, the former Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback escaped another potential sack from the defense of the Philadelphia Eagles to account for an incredible 39-yard rushing play.

Fields very nearly scored, but was ruled out at the 9-yard line.

One play later, running back David Montgomery was able to rush for a 9-yard touchdown play to give Chicago the 6-3 lead through the second quarter.

That 39-yard run from Fields broke the 50-yard Chicago Bears’ franchise record set up by Bobby Douglass at 968. Fields entered the Week 15 matchup versus Philadelphia having rushed for 905 yards.

Fields is the brightest spots for the Bears this season as they are already eliminated from postseason play at 3-10 entering Week 15.

Before the game, Fields completed 156-of-253 of his passes for 1,896 yards, 13 touchdowns, 10 interceptions while rushing for 905 yards and 8 touchdowns on 128 carries. At halftime, Fields has completed 8-of-12 of his passes for 81 yards while rushing 81 yards on 11 carries.

Philadelphia currently leads 10-6 on the road.
