Justin Fields continues to take controversial hits that go uncalled in games.

On the same day when Tedy Bruschi called out officiating for not calling late hits on the Chicago Bears quarterback, Fields took another controversial late hit in the game against the Green Bay Packers. After giving himself up by sliding feet first, a Packers defender hit him late up high.

The hit was to Fields’ shoulder —  not the head or neck — but resulted in Fields’ head slamming into the turf. However, the timing of the hit was certainly questionable, and the QB was removed from the game to be evaluated for a potential concussion.

Here’s the play:

“I’ve seen enough of him getting hit when he slides, getting hit illegally when they should be called… You’ve got a franchise quarterback here, and these guys are teeing off on this guy,” said Bruschi during Sunday’s NFL Countdown on ESPN.

Needless to say, fans were less than thrilled to see another hit delivered to Fields without a flag on the play. Many questioned the NFL’s genuine interest in player safety while others noted the majority of other NFL QBs will get a flag on this type of play.
