It didn’t take long to open the scoring in Columbus!
Even with kicking off to start the game, Ohio State didn’t take long to get the ball to its offense. After forcing an early Indiana punt, Justin Fields went to work.
The first play from scrimmage was the explosive one for the Buckeyes. Garrett Wilson wound up in man-to-man coverage and was able to get behind his defender in the middle of the field.
It wasn’t even if a question about if Fields would find him or not as Fields dropped in a beautiful pass over the top, connecting with Wilson for a 65-yard gain:

On the ensuing play, Wilson was once again left in man-coverage in the slot. He broke off a tight route and was free to the inside part of the field.
With no defensive help in the middle of the field, it was an easy pitch-and-catch from Fields to Wilson for the touchdown:

That makes Fields 2-for-2 for 75 yards and a touchdown to open the game with both throws going to Wilson.
