Hopefully this is the first of many ovations for Justin Fields at the hands of the Chicago faithful.

Friday has been a busy day for Fields. It started earlier in the afternoon with the Bears announcing that Fields has officially signed his rookie deal with the team.

According to the release, Fields’ rookie contract will be four years with a fifth-year option at the end. The contract is expected to be worth just north of $18.8 million with over $11 million in a signing bonus.

However, Fields’ contract was not the only highlight of the day. He’s also spending the afternoon taking in a Chicago Cubs game at Wrigley Field where the Cubs are taking on the rival St. Louis Cardinals.

When introduced in Chicago, Fields received a strong ovation from the crowd. Check it out:

Now, it’s up to Fields to keep the cheers coming with his play on the gridiron. Early signs from OTAs with the Bears have been strong as Fields tries to beat out veteran Andy Dalton for the starting job.
