Justin Fields is making a strong impression in Chicago ahead of his second season in the NFL. The former Ohio State quarterback had a shaky first season in a hapless Bears offense. Year 2 is Fields’ chance to prove it was the system, not the player.

And if reports out of practice are correct, it seems to be leaning towards the latter. According to Dan Graziano on ESPN 1000’s Waddle and Silvy Show, the impression Fields has made on the new coaching staff is, “Very, very strong” and they “feel like they have the right guy.”

“They have been thrilled with him,” Graziano said.

Fields led Ohio State to the national Championship game over Clemson in the 2021 Sugar Bowl, throwing for 639 yards of total offense and an incredible 6 touchdowns. The Buckeyes fell to Alabama on the big stage.

Fields piloted one of the worst offenses in the NFL last season, throwing for 1870 yards and 7 touchdowns in 12 games as a rookie.

The Bears enter 2022 with a bottom 5 receiving corps, weaponizing Darnell Mooney, former Kansas City Chief Byron Pringle and 2022 3rd round pick Velus Jones Jr.
