During a press release on Saturday night, Chicago Bears quarterback Andy Dalton was downgraded to doubtful to play against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, resulting in the second straight start for the Bears No. 1 draft pick from last year’s NFL Draft, Justin Fields.

Last week, against a much tougher Cleveland Browns defensive line than he’s facing this week, Fields was held to just 68 yards passing and was sacked 9 times.

But this week against the Lions has been a different story, at least in the first half. On a second-down play late in the first quarter, Fields hit Bears wide receiver Darnell Mooney for 64 yards to set up David Montgomery’s second touchdown on the day, putting the Bears up 14-0.

Here’s that big play to Mooney:

Entering the half, the Bears are up 14-0 and Fields is 6-of-10 passing for 109 yards, with 1 interception and no touchdowns.

And the good news for Bears fans, is that this is more like the Justin Fields we’re used to seeing from his days at Ohio State.
