Justin Fields hasn’t played organized baseball for a while, but he still has a powerful swing. The former Ohio State standout hit one out at Wrigley Field Thursday while taking a little batting practice.

Fields and other Bears players took a tour of the Chicago Cubs’ Friendly Confines on Thursday. The quarterback showed he still has the strength to hit it out of a major league ballpark.

Fields was a top-250 baseball prospect coming out of high school in Kennesaw, Georgia. Perfect Game rated him the No. 44 shortstop and No. 237 overall:

Justin Fields is a 2018 SS/2B with a 6-3 220 lb. frame from Kennesaw, GA who attends Harrison HS. Outstanding athletic build, strong and loose. 6.63 runner, has quick feet in the middle infield with developing footwork, has the actions to stay in the middle infield with continued work and repetitions, gets good carry on his throws. Right handed hitter, hand hitch load, tends to be late getting his hands moving forward, has late bat speed and can impact the ball hard when on time. 4.29/4.35 home to first. Currently the number one ranked 2018 football prospect in the country as a dual threat quarterback and does not have many baseball repetitions. Very good student.

Fields obviously made the right call focusing on football, but he might have had a future on the diamond as well.
