Justin Fields had a rough first quarter, but he is finding his groove and building Ohio State’s lead over Indiana.

It would be hard to do better than Fields on the first drive of the game. He found Garrett Wilson in a favorable matchup on the first play from scrimmaged and threw a touchdown on the second play of the game.

After that, Fields and the offense started to struggle. Indiana picked off Fields twice, two rare mistakes on the season, and also forced some early punts by the Buckeyes.

Fortunately, Ohio State responded quickly after Indiana tied the score at 7-all. Fields capped that second-quarter surge with a touchdown run of his own, making it 21-unanswered points for the Buckeyes:

FOX CFB shared another look at Fields’ spinning effort into the end zone:

At the half, Fields is 11-for-17 passing with 193 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions. He’s also utilizing his legs against the Hoosiers, picking up 49 yards and another touchdown on the ground.

The first half was far from perfect, but Ohio State is now a few big plays away from securing a win against Indiana.
