Justin Fields’ status revealed ahead of Bears-Panthers Week 10 ‘Thursday Night Football’ game

Justin Fields is officially inactive for the Chicago Bears as they host the Carolina Panthers on Thursday night at Soldier Field. Rookie Tyson Bagent will start his 4th straight game in place of Fields.
Fields hasn’t played since a Week 6 game against the Minnesota Vikings as he had to leave early due to a dislocated thumb. He had gone 6-of-10 for 58 yards to that point, running 8 times for 46 yards. Leading up to Thursday, he was listed as “day-to-day” initially but was downgraded to “doubtful” as the week progressed.
Ahead of the game, the Bears eventually listed him as inactive:

In Fields’ absence, the Bears have turned to Bagent, an undrafted free agent rookie who ended his career with the most touchdown passes in NCAA history at any level (159) and with the Division II record in passing yards and completions. He was 10-of-14 for 83 yards in relief of Fields against the Bears and had back-to-back respectable performances against the Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers.
In a loss to the New Orleans Saints, he ran 8 times for 70 yards and threw a pair of touchdowns, but was intercepted twice.
