Maryland baseball is still alive in the NCAA Tournament, thanks in large part to the work of catcher Justin Vought!
Facing Charlotte in the Greenville Regional in a do-or-die game, the offense was mostly vacant for both teams. The Terps tied the game at 1-all in the bottom of the eighth inning and faced multiple baserunners in the top of the ninth.
Vought’s first clutch play of the ninth inning came as the lead Charlotte runner wandered a bit too far away from second base. A quick snap throw to second by Vought was enough for the pickoff, wiping out the biggest scoring chance left for the 49ers.
GOT HIM‼️@jvought25 with the pickoff of his life.

In the bottom half of the inning, it was Vought who stepped to the plate with a chance to end the game. He laced a single that was enough to walk it off and keep Maryland alive for at least one more game.
