Kaleb Johnson had himself a career day in Iowa’s Week 10 win over Purdue. Though Spencer Petras started the scoring for Iowa with a pair of passing touchdowns, it was Johnson who cemented the game as a blowout for the Hawkeyes.

Johnson ended the game with 200 yards even on 22 carries with a 75-yard touchdown for the Hawkeyes. He also produced 2 catches for 17 yards in the win.

After the game, Johnson was asked about the performance. He admitted, “it’s the best feeling” he’s ever had as a player. It’s hard to deny that after such a dramatic outing.

Johnson is a true freshman for Iowa who arrived in Iowa City as a 3-star prospect. Entering Saturday, Johnson had 353 rushing yards on the season and just a single 100-yard performance to his credit.

In Week 10, Johnson produced the first 200-yard outing by a Hawkeye since 2015. Now, Iowa appears to have its workhorse back for the stretch run in November.

Up next for Johnson will be a stout Wisconsin rush defense in Week 11.
