Kansas State hires North Dakota State’s Chris Klieman as next head coach

Kansas State has named North Dakota State’s Chris Klieman as its next head coach. The school made the announcement on Monday evening.
Klieman will replace longtime head coach and Kansas State legend Bill Snyder, who decided to retire following the 2018 season.
For the last five seasons, Klieman has been the head coach of FCS powerhouse North Dakota State. He won three national championships in his first four seasons in Fargo and has the Bison competing four a fourth title this season. NDSU will face South Dakota State in the FCS Playoff semifinal on Friday night.

In five seasons with North Dakota State, Klieman has compiled a 67-6 record and has won at least 12 games every year. This season, the Bison are a perfect 13-0.
Klieman has also led North Dakota State to two wins over FBS programs during his tenure. In 2014, the Bison knocked off Iowa State. Two years later in 2016, NDSU took down Iowa.
Under Snyder, Kansas State went 215-117-1 in two stints. Last season, the Wildcats finished the year 5-7.
