Karan Higdon is attempting to take his football career to the next level over the next few months, preparing and training for the upcoming NFL Draft. In an effort to be ready for things like the NFL Scouting Combine and pro days, the former Michigan running back is training with a professional athlete.

That professional athlete just happens to be playing a different sport.

During the NFL Combine interviews on Thursday, Higdon said he’s been training with Detroit Tigers star Miguel Cabrera, along with other athletes in Miami.

“It’s great, especially working along greats like (Cabrera),” Higdon said, according to MLive.com. “I mean, he’s a pure legend. One of the top three baseball players in the world. And just seeing how he works and how he moves and what he does to really stay at that high-caliber level is incredible.

“It’s motivational, and makes me that much more hungry.”

Higdon appeared in 11 games for the Wolverines last fall, rushing for 1,178 yards and 10 touchdowns in a 10-3 season in Ann Arbor. He was also an All-B1G selection for his big year.

Now, Higdon is training to take his talent to the next level and live out his dream of playing in the NFL. It sounds like he’s already working with a few guys that can help him achieve that goal.
