Keegan Murrary is showing promise in the NBA preseason. A stat showed just how great he’s been so far.

The rookie showed out for the Sacramento Kings in preseason, his per 36 stats revealed. The Iowa product has been making plays when it counts, whether that’s through scoring or grabbing rebounds.

Murray averaged 26.6 points per game, 7.5 rebounds per game and 3.3 steals per game in the Kings’ preseason games on 70.6% shooting from the field and 70% from the three-point line.

Murray was a standout at Iowa, averaging 15.8 points per game and 7 rebounds per game across his two seasons. In his final season with the Hawkeyes, Murray averaged 23.5 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.

He helped lead Iowa to a 26-10 record last season, but the Hawkeyes couldn’t make it past the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Kings are hoping Murray can be the piece they need to get back on track. Sacramento has had a forgetful two decades, missing the playoffs every year since 2006.

Sacramento tips off its regular season Oct. 19 against the Portland Trailblazers.
