Kerby Joseph and the Detroit Lions pulled off one of the more shocking upsets of the NFL regular season, winning 31-18 to send the New York Giants to their 3rd loss of the year. The Lions lost 6 of their first 7 games but have now rattled off 3 wins in a row.

Joseph, the rookie from Illinois, has been a key to the Lions’ recent winning run. He recorded a 3rd-quarter interception of Daniel Jones, his 3rd of the season. The 3rd-round selection also has a pair of forced fumbles, the first NFL player since 2014 to have 3 or more interceptions and 2 or more forced fumbles throughout the first 10 games of his career.

“I feel like I was born like this, you feel me? I just be going out there and then, like, I don’t know. I feel like the ball be finding me,” Joseph told The Athletic’s Colton Pouncy when asked about his ball-hawking skills.

Illini fans know all about Joseph’s abilities: he had 5 picks in his final season in Champaign in 2021 along with a pair of fumble recoveries. He’s now developing into a reliable defensive threat for Dan Campbell’s team.
