Maryland and athletic director Kevin Anderson are parting ways, according to reports.
On Saturday, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reported that sources confirmed Anderson had been fired by the university, though there was no official announcement or confirmation from Maryland at the time.
According to Blanco, Anderson had been on administrative leave since Oct. 1 and will remain on the payroll through August 2018 as part of a severance package.

Anderson was in charge of hiring head football coach D.J. Durkin in 2015. He had been the athletic director at Maryland since 2010.
Blanco also reported that many boosters are clamoring for former head basketball coach Gary Williams to take over the position.
Maryland is hosting Northwestern at 3:30 p.m.
