Perhaps the biggest story in college football right is the possibility of Texas and Oklahoma departing the Big 12 for the SEC.
B1G commissioner Kevin Warren was asked about the situation on Thursday and gave a neutral response.
#B1G‘s Kevin Warren on Texas/OU/SEC talk: “These are the kind of issues we all will be dealing with this year and for many years. That’s the world that we live in right now. From where we sit, we’re always constantly evaluating what’s in the best interests of the conference.”

Warren added that the B1G will be closely monitoring the situation.
Warren on expansion: “That’s the world we live in right now. From where we sit, we’re always constantly evaluating what’s in the best interests of the conference. It will be interesting to see that story, how that evolves and where it lands.”

The new addition of Barry Alvarez as a special advisor for the B1G should aid Warren in his decision-making on big picture situations.
Evokes Barry Alvarez pretty directly here, not just about expansion but in making clear Alvarez is someone Warren will lean on a lot through the coming months, as college sports navigates what he calls “an inflection point.”

The B1G schedule kicks off on Aug 28 with a matchup between Nebraska and Illinois.
