It was reported on Tuesday that the B1G had 6 schools in mind for expansion other than Notre Dame. B1G Commissioner Kevin Warren stated that the conference isn’t targeting anyone according to Brandon Marcello of 247Sports.
The report stated that the B1G was looking at Cal, Oregon, Washington, and even Stanford to join the conference. Warren says that he really enjoys the 14 teams that are currently in the B1G, and is focusing on the additions of USC and UCLA in 2024 at this time.
This is what Warren had to say on that:
“We’re not targeting anyone,” said Warren. “I mean, I really like our 14 current schools and I really like our two new additions that are coming in 2024.”
We’ll see if this claim holds up a few years down the road. For now, it’s not on his mind.
Is #BigTen targeting Oregon, Washington, Cal and Stanford in expansion?
