Kevin Willard made no excuses for the Maryland Terrapins basketball squad after an ugly win on Thursday night.
Following the Terrapins’ brutal victory over Western Carolina, 71-51, Willard added in how they played and what needs improvement moving forward.
“They gotta learn how to make buckets when they are tired,” Willard said.
Maryland didn’t shoot well from outside, going 2-19. Willard said the team is still learning about to play this hard, adding “They gotta learn how to make buckets when they are tired.”

The Terrapins’ did not fare well in shooting outside, going 2-for-19 from behind the arc.
Where they did thrive was in the defense, holding the Catamounts to 15 points for the first half and a mere 6-for-30 shooting. Forcing the Catamounts to 17 turnovers by the end of the game. The defense really played its part and helped the Terps secure the win.
Just a few days prior against Niagara was a different story, especially behind the arc. The Terps went 5-for-7 and made 45% of their three point shots on Monday, but couldn’t capitalize in the same manner on Thursday with 11% made on Thursday.
The Terps will be back in action on Nov. 15 taking on Binghamton at the Xfinity Center at 7 p.m. ET on BTN.
