Ricky White is out on Saturday, the Michigan State wide receiver not suiting up for his team’s game against Northwestern.

It is presently unclear why White is being held out of a big game for the Spartans (2-3) against the No. 11 team in the nation, Northwestern (5-0).

The true freshman had a standout game four weeks ago in a win against Michigan where he had eight catches for 196 yards and a touchdown. Since then he’s been quiet, with one catch for 22 yards against Iowa his only other stat line.

He didn’t register a catch last week against Indiana.

So far on the season, White has 10 catches for 223 yards and a touchdown, the overwhelming part of his production coming in that win at Michigan last month.
