Ohio State will be without one of its best and most experienced defenders this spring.

According to Doug Lesmerises with Cleveland.com, Ohio State confirmed Friday evening that star defensive lineman Haskell Garrett will be sidelined for spring practices. Garrett had shared a picture on his personal Instagram of himself using a scooter to get around. The injury has been defined as a lower-leg injury to his right leg.

Hopefully, the injury is not one that will linger and cause any issues for Garrett and the Buckeyes beyond the spring. He had a breakout performance for Ohio State in 2020 and is a key performer returning to Columbus for 2021.

Earlier in the week, Ohio State also found out that linebacker Dallas Gant would be sidelined for spring ball with a foot injury. That is a tough blow as Ohio State is trying to get the linebacking corps ready to replace Tuf Borland, Baron Browning, Justin Hilliard, and Pete Werner

In 2020, Garrett had 20 total tackles, four TFL, and two sacks to go with an interception and touchdown. Hopefully, he’ll be a full go for fall and beyond with the Buckeyes.
