Khary Crump is taking a plea deal, per Detroit Free Press’ Chris Solari. Crump was charged with felony assault for his involvement in the Michigan-Michigan State tunnel fight.
Crump is pleading guilty to misdemeanor counts of assault and battery as well as disorderly conduct person-jostling. Crump’s next step will be to go to a district court in Ann Arbor on Jan. 5 to accept the deal.
Crump released a statement after the news of his plea deal came out.
“This is a step,” Crump said in a statement to the Free Press. “Writing the apology to Gemon was a step. I am taking this step by step. I am working on KJ the man, KJ the student and KJ the athlete. All I can say is stay-tuned.”
Crump was one of the seven Michigan State players charged after the incident. Unlike the rest of the Spartans involved, Crump will be missing the first eight games of the 2023 season.
Stay tuned for any more updates about Crump or the tunnel fight as a whole.
