For the first time in nearly 60 years, Notre Dame and Wisconsin will go head-to-head on the gridiron, meeting at Lambeau Field during the 2020 season.

The game date has been known for awhile, as the two teams will meet on Oct. 3. The kickoff time, however, has been unavailable. And while the precise start time is still a bit of a mystery, it sounds like the Fighting Irish and Badgers will meet in prime time.

NBC15’s Mike Jocko Jacques reported that the non-conference clash between Notre Dame and Wisconsin in Green Bay will be a night game. It’s also expected to air on NBC, which is the television home of Fighting Irish football — traditionally for home games.

Notre Dame and Wisconsin have played 16 times in history, but the two squads haven’t met with 1964. The Fighting Irish lead the all-time series 8-6-2.

The 2020 meeting between the Irish and Badgers is the first of a two-year head-to-head series. In 2021, the two teams will play at Chicago’s Soldier Field on Sept. 25.

Wisconsin last played at Lambeau Field in 2016, defeating LSU 16-14.
