King Doerue has his first touchdown of the 2022 season, and his short run put Purdue back on top of Penn State, 10-7 in the second quarter.
While the run goes down as a three-yard touchdown, Doerue’s actual efforts were more impressive than the yardage listed. With Penn State safety Ji’Ayir Brown closing down on Doerue in the hole, the Boilermaker running back delivered a beautiful stiff arm to send Brown down to the turf.
After that, it was an easy bounce to the outside before beating everyone to the pylon. Here’s a look at the run and an extra look at the stiff-arm by Doerue:

Now in the second quarter, Doerue has 21 yards on 5 carries with the touchdown and another catch for 8 yards. He is off to a strong start, and Purdue’s offense has kept Penn State off balance early on.
