We’re not even into the second quarter of the Outback Bowl and already Austin Appleby threw two interceptions.
But neither of them came in conventional fashion and neither of them looked like his fault.
The first one came on an incredible play on the ball and then a dive/catch from Iowa safety Brandon Snyder:

Desmond King then made his 14th career interception, which put him fourth on Iowa’s all-time list (via BTNStatsGuys).
Here was King’s interception from his back (!):
Unfortunately for Iowa, the two interceptions only led to three points.
Still, that’s not a bad early sign for Iowa.
