Ahead of Ohio State’s game versus Georgia Saturday, Georgia head coach Kirby Smart updated the media Monday on two of his best players Ladd McConkey and Warren McClendon.
McConkey is the top wide receiver option for the Bulldogs this season and finished second on the team with 675 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns. McClendon was Georgia’s starting right tackle for much of the season.
While Smart did not provide a ton of details, he did say the team is hopeful to get both players back for the Peach Bowl.
“We’re excited to get those guys hopefully back, and we’ll see how they do this week,” said Smart.

McConkey had re-aggravated a left knee injury against LSU in the SEC Championship Game. McClendon seemed to have appeared to suffer a lower-body injury when he was pass-blocking and was rolled up on by a teammate.
Having them both back for the game Saturday will be huge for the Bulldogs, but both players being out for most of the SEC Championship didn’t seem to affect the game. Georgia still won by 20 points over LSU.
We’ll see if the Bulldogs are able to roll out both players on Saturday.
