Kirk Cousins received his injury diagnosis after going down with an injury against the Green Bay Packers Sunday, and it’s not great news.

The Minnesota Vikings’ veteran quarterback out of Michigan State has suffered a torn Achilles according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. An MRI will be taken to confirm the news.

If the report is accurate, the injury will be the first serious injury Cousins has dealt with in his career.

Cousins has had a solid season for the Vikings despite the team’s early struggles. He’s recorded 2,057 yards and 16 touchdowns on the year, leading the Vikings to a 4-4 record.

The news that Cousins could be missing some serious time is just another to blow to Minnesota’s offense as the Vikings are also already missing Justin Jefferson, who is dealing with a hamstring injury.

The Vikings will have to manage without Cousins now, and they’ll look to find success without him starting next week against the Falcons.
