Kirk Ferentz bluntly details preparing for Marvin Harrison Jr: ‘It’s impossible’

Marvin Harrison Jr was probably the best wide receiver in college football last season.
That’s not to discredit what Jalin Hyatt was able to do at Tennessee, either. Harrison’s sophomore year at Ohio State was otherworldly, seeing the son of Hall of Famer WR Marvin Harrison total 77 receptions for 1,263 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Harrison is the obvious frontrunner for the Biletnikoff Award in 2023, and the praise from head coaches around the B1G outside of Columbus all but proves that. At ACC Kickoff Wednesday afternoon, Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz was asked how to game plan for a talent like MHJ.
His answer? Something to the effect of “abandon all hope.”

Ferentz has seen in firsthand, too.
Harrison and the Buckeyes blitzed Iowa last season, winning 54-10 as Harrison racked up 7 receptions (game high) for 62 yards and a touchdown.
