Nebraska won last week, but the Cornhuskers needed three non-offensive touchdowns to beat South Alabama, 35-21. However, ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit doesn’t expect the Nebraska offense to struggle that much again this week against Colorado.

On College GameDay, Herbstreit explained he believes the Cornhuskers will be very emotional and full of energy on the road against their rival in Week 2.

“Last week’s performance by Nebraska is a classic case of as much as he tried, the team was sneaking and looking ahead to a game they’re really excited about,” Herbstreit said on the ESPN pregame show via 247Sports. “You’re going to see a chippy, emotional Nebraska team playing on the road. Scott Frost knows the history of this rivalry, and I think you will see him get his team to buy in. I think some of the sloppiness, they just weren’t effective, they didn’t have their normal rhythm — had a lot to do with thinking about this game, and they lost to them last year, so I expect Nebraska to bounce back and look good.”

Nebraska quarterback will need the biggest bounce back this week after he went just 13 of 22 for 178 yards with an interception. Last year against Colorado, Martinez went 15-for-20 with 187 yards, one touchdown and an interception.
