Apparently Twitter battles between Kirk Herbstreit and the world has become a thing now.
Last week, the ESPN panelist laid into a few five-star recruits who questioned Urban Meyer’s decision to start quarterback J.T. Barrett. That spat even carried over to College GameDay. But Herbstreit fought a new battle over the weekend.
A few Nebraska fans fired shots at Herbstreit, saying he was too optimistic about head coach Mike Riley. Needless to say, Herbstreit didn’t appreciate being attacked again.
Here’s the back-and-forth between the analyst a Husker fan:
The only reason I can think of that u thought Rieley would be a good Nebraska coach is so OSU can keep handing us our ass

So I'm wrong for trying to be "glass half full guy" when they hired him and I'm wrong when I tell ya it's not 1995 anymore. Got it! Thanks! https://t.co/2A7sUD43O8

It’s been a rough weekend in Lincoln after Nebraska’s 21-17 loss to Northern Illinois. The Huskers even ranked No. 1 on USA Today’s Misery Index after the loss.
A few Nebraska fans are taking that misery out on some of college football’s biggest names.
