If the B1G restarts its football season, Kirk Herbstreit is going to be just as fired up as the rest of us. His reaction to hearing the news on Tuesday was priceless.

Nebraska President Ted Carter let the cat out of the bag on Tuesday morning, saying in front of a hot mic, “We’re getting ready to announce the Huskers and B1G football tonight.” And when that happened, Herbstreit was on live with Barstool’s Pat McAfee Show.

When Herbstreit heard the news, is live, authentic reaction was absolutely priceless. Below is the clip:

It’s big news for the conference and college football, which is expected to have several teams competing for a spot in the College Football Playoff this year — most notably Ohio State, Penn State and Wisconsin.

Jeff Potrykus of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel confirmed the comment from Carter later on Tuesday. It’s assumed the league is looking at an October 17 start date and will still be eligible for the College Football Playoff.
