Johnson marched on the Boilermakers for 200 yards on 22 carries with an average of 9.1 per carry and 1 touchdown. He would have a breakaway run of 75 yards coming out of the half within the first minute of the 3rd quarter.
The game would end up all Iowa in a 24-3 finish with the Hawkeyes winning in all phases.
Johnson would be the first 200-yard rusher for Iowa since Akrum Wadley in 2015. On the season, Johnson has 553 yards on 96 attempts for 4 touchdowns and a consistent 5.8 yards per carry.
The win against the Boilermakers is Iowa’s 5th on the season and the 3rd win in the conference. The Hawkeyes are currently 5-4 overall and 3-3 in the B1G.
Iowa is currently No. 2 in the B1G West behind Illinois who the Hawkeyes lost to in a tough 9-6 game. The Hawkeyes will face Wisconsin at home this weekend in another B1G West contest.
