Kirk Herbstreit is back with his top performing teams from Week 7, and 1 B1G program cracked his grouping.

That team is Iowa, which won the Heartland Trophy by downing Wisconsin 15-6 in a truly dominant defensive effort. The Badgers did not score a single touchdown on 15 drives Saturday afternoon against a team which had a previous scoring low of 22 points.

The Hawkeyes forced a pair of turnovers and 8 punts. The Badgers only scores were a pair of field goals by Nathaniel Vakos from 36 and 52 yards out.

Washington, Notre Dame, Pitt, Stanford, North Carolina and Oregon State also cracked Herbstreit’s list.

Iowa is now 6-1 on the season, one of 4 B1G programs to achieve bowl eligibility through Week 7. Iowa is also alone at the top of the B1G West after downing perhaps their toughest competition.

The Hawkeyes have a favorable schedule and a real shot at finishing 11-1 on the season.
